The holidays are my busiest time of year, and every season, I make hundreds—yes, hundreds—of homemade truffles for family and friends. It’s a tradition I started years ago, and while everyone enjoys them, I’d be lying if I said it didn’t occasionally feel overwhelming. Between the shopping, wrapping, decorating, and all the other festive obligations, adding “truffle factory” to my to-do list can feel like just another chore.
But then, I catch myself. I pause and remember why I do this in the first place. These little chocolate treasures aren’t just treats—they’re symbols of love and connection. So, I reframe my thoughts. Instead of thinking I have to make truffles, I tell myself I get to make truffles. I’m lucky to have people in my life to share them with, and I’m even luckier to be part of their holiday memories.
Then, I crank up my favorite Christmas playlist and dive in. Sometimes, all it takes is a little shift in perspective to turn what feels like “work” into an act of joy. Now, who’s ready for truffle number 101
