Simply Social Power Ups™ give kids and teens the chance to focus on a specific friendship or social challenge through practical strategies, real-life situations, and opportunities to practice with other kids and teens in real time.
Each Power Up focuses on a topic that can make a real difference in a child or teen's social life, such as making friends, reading social cues, joining conversations, building resilience, or navigating other common friendship challenges.
Your child or teen may really want friends but not know how to get from being classmates with someone to actually becoming friends.
In From Classmates to Friends, we'll talk about how friendships develop and practice the small steps that help move a relationship forward, including how to approach someone, start or join a conversation, add to what's already being talked about, find things in common, tell whether someone is receptive, turn one good interaction into another, move from talking to someone to actually doing something together, follow up, and understand that friendships build over time.
Participants will have opportunities to practice these skills with other kids or teens in real time.
